Noah Black is an Assistant Producer of Status/الوضع, researcher, and graduate student in the Middle East and Islamic Studies department of George Mason University. Their research interests are in the theology and praxis of liberation in Muslim thought as well as global Indigenous liberation movements. Noah previously interned at an NGO focused on the intersections of religion and conflict analysis, where they advised the Morocco and Colombia program officers. Noah got their B.A. in Global Affairs, with coursework focused on social movements in the Middle East and the United States. Noah plans to continue with graduate school, researching the evolution of socialism and Islam in Soviet Central Asian discourse. They also plan to contribute to making critical, analytical knowledge production more accessible through platforms like Status and the Maydan.
